There's a difference in doing what you HAVE to do and doing what you LOVE to do. Most of us grew up watching people do what they HAD to do to survive. Money was tight and there was not a lot to go around. We heard phrases like "money doesn't grow on trees" and "I can't afford that."
This was very normal for most of us as we grew older. We watched our parents struggle often times to make ends meet and went without many things that other kids had freely. Through many years of mental conditioning, many of us were programmed to think in scarcity rather than abundance.
This is why it's so important to do as the Bible tells us "Be not conformed to the image of this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." Romans 12:2 When we come to God and begin to walk with Him, we must understand that we can no longer think in the ways of the world. It is then time to adopt a new mindset- kingdom thinking.
God does not want you to struggle and penny pinch. He doesn't want you to be in a situation where you find yourself constantly having to do what you HAVE to in order to survive. God wants you to enjoy this beautiful ride called life. His desire is that you prosper and be in good health as your soul prospers. He has great plans for your life! Jeremiah 29:11 God says "For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." That's right, God has a future for you and that future does not include you breaking your back to do what you HAVE to do in order to survive. God wants you to flourish and thrive! He wants you to be able to get up everyday and do what you love to do and be successful at doing it!
You must understand that just because you are doing what you love to do, that doesn't always mean that you will FEEL like doing it. You're human and you will have times in life where you're not as motivated. However, those are the times that something bigger than you has to kick in and cause you to keep going forward. That thing is PURPOSE. To understand the purpose of a thing is to understand the reason for that thing. You must understand that God has a purpose for your life. There's a reason that you showed up on this planet! Knowing that reason will keep you going during those times that you desire to throw in the towel. If you can be one of 1% of people that are able to remain consistent and push through times of adversity, you will find yourself being able to live out the rest of your days doing what you LOVE to do! That, my friend, is what you call living!
